The Catholic Diocese of Kontagora has reported that an additional 88 students have been declared missing following Friday’s attack on St. Mary’s Secondary School in Papiri, Agwara Local Government Area of Niger State.  In a statement issued on Saturday, November 22, the Bishop of Kontagora Diocese, Most Rev. Bulus Dauwa Yohanna, said the total number of missing students has risen to 303. An officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), SRC Lasisi Funmilayo Oluwamayokun , and her young daughter, Sewa , who were declared missing on November 2, have been found dead in the home of a suspected herbalist in Osun State. Lasisi, 39, left her residence at Obasanjo Hilltop Estate, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, with her daughter on Sunday but could not be reached thereafter. A missing-person report was filed at the Kemta Divisional Police Headquarters on November 5. Family sources confirmed over the weekend that the bodies of the officer and her child were recovered from a suspected ritual den in an undisclosed Osun community. The Federal Government on Thursday asked the Federal High Court in Abuja to impose the death penalty on Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), following his conviction. Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court ruled that Kanu was guilty on one count of the terrorism charges brought against him by the Federal Government. The court held that it was convinced Kanu made a series of broadcasts that incited violence and killings in pursuit of his separatist campaign for a Biafran state.
